What are the Types of Sewage Pumps?
There are 3 types of Sewage Pumps. They are
- Effluent Pumps
- Solid Handling Pumps
- Grinder Pumps
Effluent Pumps
Effluent pumps are the pumps most frequently uses in small on-site systems. They are designed to pump effluent, the effluent flowing out of a septic tank. The fact that the particulates in the wastewater have separated in the septic tank has made the liquid comparatively clear. Because they don’t have to deal with sewage solids, effluent pumps are able to pump at higher volumes and with greater efficiency than other sewage pumps.
Solid Handling Pumps
These pumps, which are used to pump raw sewage, are also known as sewage ejector pumps. Only solids-handling pumps should be used to pump raw sewage since it includes too many solids for conventional pumps.
Grinder Pumps
Similar to a solid-handling pump is a grinder pump. Raw sewage can be pumped by it. The grinder pump, which cuts and grinds the solids into small pieces before the sewage is pumped, differs in that it includes revolving blades similar to waste grinders.
